Students form an essential part for any college's success. So do the teachers.

Inauguration of CSI Student Chapter and Expert Lecture on “Machine Learning” in OIST Bhopal



In Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, the Student Chapter of Computer Society of India (CSI) has been inaugurated on 9/5/2017 by Dr. R. S Thakur, Chairman, CSI Bhopal Chapter and Associate Professor, Dept. of MCA, MANIT Bhopal

The program started with a floral welcome of Dr. Thakur by Dr. Kavita Burse, Dean Academics, OIST, Bhopal. Thereafter, Dr. R.S Thakur introduced the importance of CSI for the students and faculty members as well with the distribution the CSI Institute membership certificate and membership cards to student and faculty members of CSI. 

An expert lecture was also organized on Machine Learning by the expert in which he elaborated the importance, methods, applications and various research areas of Machine Learning, in the field of Computer Science. The inaugural function was attended by more than 100 students of CSE and IT departments. The vote thanks was presented by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, HOD, CSE.

Workshop for CSE students held at OIST Bhopal

Department of CSE, OCT organised a ‌ workshop for IV Sem Students. Ms. Nanita Dammani was the instructor. In the workshop students got hands on experience on topics like  Introduction to Angular JS, Class Objectives,Single Page Apps vs Conventional Web Applications,Where Angular Fits,JavaScript Basics,Event Handlers,Angular Overview,Setup & Installation,Two-way Data Binding, Controllers Setting up the initial state of a $ scope object Adding Behavior to a Scope  Object, Scopes, Templating,HTTP/XHR,Dependency,Injection,Dependency,Annotation,Filters, Routing  & Multiple Views,Event Handlers and One Project. The students found the workshop quite informative.



Conduction of Conquest 2017 at OIST

At Oriental Group, Bhopal, Conquest 2017 was celebrated for the 2017 passing out batch. Every year Conquest is celebrated to acknowledge the proud performance of enlisted students through ‘on campus placement’. This year also almost all the students were successfully offered the joining letters in various MNC’s like TCS, Zensar, Wipro, Adani, Musigma, Cognizant, Satyam, HCL, L&T, Capegemini, Tech-mahindra etc. Parents witnessed the success journey of orientalites during valuable four years of academics.

The program commenced with the lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana followed by a welcome dance, cultural programs and speeches of the dignitaries. A program like this, is a showcase to convert dreams of technocrats into reality, and Oriental Group bestows the same platform with all the available sources to grow at their desired heights.

The chief guest for the day was Hon’ble Shri Ajatshatru Shrivastava, Commissioner, Bhopal.The guests of honor were Dr. R S Rajpoot, Director UIT RGPV, Bhopal and Dr. S K Jain, Registrar, RGPV, Bhopal.  Dr. K L Thakral, Founder Chairman of the Oriental Group of Institutes and Chancellor, Oriental University and Shri Praveen Thakral, Chairman of the Oriental Group of Institutes, Bhopal, welcomed the guests and felicitated them.

All the placed students were felicitated by the guests and their parents witnessed the proud moment.

All the Directors, Deans, Heads and the faculty members of Oriental Group of Institutes graced the occasion with their benign presence. Dr. Kavita Burse, Director, OIST, thanked and congratulated all the presenters and the participants along with the guests in making the event memorable. 
 
By the end of the day the entire campus was overwhelmed with the spirit of hope, gratitude and happiness to see the saplings turned to trees which are ready to set bench marks in the competitive professional world, to make Oriental proud.

National Conference held at Oriental College of Technology Bhopal

National Conference on “Applications of ITS, GIS, City Apps and Cyber Security for Smart Cities” was inaugurated at Oriental College of Technology, Bhopal with huge enthusiasm among research scholars, academicians and students.

The conference is scheduled on 18th -19th November, at Oriental Group of Institutes. The event was graced by Chief Guest & Key note speaker, Dr. Partha Chakraborthy, Professor, IIT Kanpur. Among other Guest of honors,were Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dean, Thakur College of Engineering Mumbai, Dr. P.K.Agarwal Professor MANIT, Dr. Anand Tripahi and Sourabh Shrivastava, Scientist New Delhi.
Conference Convener, Dr. Uma Bhawsar welcomed all Guests and informed the delegates of need of smart cities and applied technologies for future generations. Dr. Partho Chakraborthy gave a detailed expert lecture on Transportation scenarios and applications of Civil Engineering in the contemporary scenario.

INAUGRATION OF TWO DAY WORK SHOP AT ORIENTAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, BHOPAL

Today at Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal a two day workshop is conducted by Information Technology, Computer Science and MCA Departments.
This work shop was organized under “TECH VRIDDHI 16” an annual event conducted by IIT, Guwahati for the technical growth and development of the students. The expert for the first day was Mr. Gautam Gupta, Head, CS and embedded Department, Techno Spices Global, Guwahati, he conducted a session on App Development and then made the students to practice it on the systems and then the doubts were also solved by him.
 On day two we had Mr. Manish Kumar who started his session with a revision of the previous day class and then he continued with the further scope and future prospects of technical advances in the App Development. Both the sessions were very effective and beneficial for the students.

Second day of National Techno Cultural & Sports event “Tech Acme – 2015” at OIST, Bhopal

The second day of TECH ACME’2015 has been marked by the energetic participation from a large number of students from Bhopal and outside. The number of students who participated in various events was around 3000 in Technical competitions and approximately 2000 in Non technical events.

 A special workshop on 3D printing was conducted which guided the students about the actual physical development of an object with the help of machines. The training expert was Prof. Nikhil Kaushik, Director, Educare Foundation, Bhopal. Students appreciated the unique concept of Automated Meshed Modeling of objects and learnt a new technology. N Craft, a National Conference on Recent Advancements in Futuristic Technologies, gave platform to the professional Engineers, Academicians and Research Scholars to share new idea, experiences and knowledge in various fields of Engineering and Technology. The topics covered various topics like Nano Technology, Distributed Generation, HVDC and Facts, Renewable Energy Resources and so on. Other events conducted were Circuit Designing, Assemble De-assemble Bug Fix, App Presentation, Click Flick, Movie Making, Mock Parliament, Collage making, Art Gallery, Roadies, Chess, Kabaddi, Race(400x 100), Table Tennis and Carom. In Circuit Design, about 600 teams participated who made many basic and advanced forms. Assemble De assemble unfolded the talent of the students to make new machines. In robotics, Robo race and Robo war were the star attractions of the event. After the first qualifying round, 50 teams moved to the semifinals. In Bug Fix, there were competitions on Computer Science and Information Technology. In Chess, 150 entries participated where as in Kabbaddi and in Basket ball,there was a participation of around 200 teams. Along with these new events, some of the events of the first day also continued like Model Presentation, Robotics and LAN Gaming. In sports, Cricket, Volley ball, Basketball, Badminton were played to knock their semifinal rounds. The star attraction of the day was Fashion Show Competition which displayed the budding talents. The questions were handled well and on the basis of that the winners were selected by the judges.
